The first bath – a water challenge
You are already at home with your baby. You have your first hours together in the privacy of your home, your first night in a crib. You get to know each other without haste and with great curiosity. There are undoubtedly a number of challenges ahead of you. And even one water – the first bath.
Everything “at hand”
It is worth having a plan and proceeding to its implementation calmly, without nerves and fear. Evening baths very often become pleasant rituals, during which you spend a wonderful time with your baby, having a great impact on a peaceful sleep.
Before taking your baby apart and putting him in a bathtub with water, prepare all the necessary things that will be needed during the bath. Newborns do not like the cold, they feel best wrapped, so it is worth saving yourself and your undressed baby stress by looking for a washcloth, sponge, swabs, body wash, bath towel, clean sleeping bags, hair brush or olive.
Like in Mom’s tummy
Babies still remember staying in their mother’s tummy, so bathing should take place in water at a temperature of about 37 degrees Celsius. C. It is worth getting a floating thermometer, on which the temperature of a comfortable bath is clearly marked. Thanks to this, we can constantly check whether the water has cooled down.
Newborns have sensitive and delicate skin, so cosmetics used for bathing and immediately after it should be intended for babies from the first day of life, certainly those fragrance-free, non-allergenic and without unnecessary chemical additives are the best choice.
Soft cover
A baby that has been bathed should be wrapped in a warm and delicate bath towel, which has a hood that protects the newborn’s head from cooling. When buying such a bath covering, it is worth paying attention to the quality of the fabric from which it was sewn. Natural, breathable materials are the best choice as they absorb water quickly. The baby’s body, which has been wrapped in a towel, is prepared for further care procedures: cleaning the ears, navel or lubricating the body with olive.
Colorful dreams
To sum up, a joyful bath in a calm atmosphere is the first stage of relaxing your baby before going to bed. It is certainly also a wonderful time of closeness, love and watching your baby grow. The first water challenge most often becomes an everyday adventure that you will remember with a smile and sentiment years later.
